It is Yorkshires largest golf facility with 50 holes of golf over 4 courses and a 15 bay floodlit driving range. All abilities are welcome, from complete newcomers to seasoned pros, this is a great way to spend your day and be transported away from the everyday stresses of travel.

For those travelling with kids under 11, Eureka! The National Children's Museum in Halifax is the one museum you don't want to miss! As an interactive educational museum for children it heavily focuses on a learning through play model, and trust us when we say learning has never been this fun! Eureka! is less than a 20 minute drive from the hotel and with 400 hands-on exhibits you'll wish you visited sooner.

Fret not if you're looking for a different kind of museum. Within driving distance is the National Science and Media Museum, which has 8 floors dedicated to the exploration of the transformative impact image and sound technologies have had on our lives. A little further down the road is the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, which houses the national collection of arms and armour.

If you get the chance, we also highly recommend you stop in to Halifax, even if it is just a fleeting visit. With some of the region's best-preserved Georgian and Victorian landmarks, including the spectacular Piece Hall, it is a sight not to be missed. With a history rooted in its role as the heart of England's woollen industry, and recently featuring in a number BBC shows, it is definitely worth a detour.
