  • Thinking of extending your stay?

To the west we have the historic and picturesque town of Basingstoke, that dates back to Roman times. Between the local architecture and plenty of museums, this is a history buffs dream come true. But fear not, if history is not your thing, as Basingstoke is also home to one of the south's best shopping centres.

To the east is Camberley, which is popular with kids thanks to the Gravity Force Trampoline Park. Definitely beats jumping on our beds! You also have the Royal Military Academy and Military museums in neighbouring Sandhurst, which cannot be missed on Heritage day. Just south of Camberley is Frimley, home to Frimley Park Hospital, and Frimley Lodge Park, the latter being great for picnics and family outings with two playgrounds.

A little further away, but well worth the trip is the very regal Windsor.  Dating back to the 11th century, Windsor Castle is the largest and oldest inhabited castle in the world, a firm favourite of the Queen, and open to tours from the public. Did you know you don't need to go all the way to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony? You can witness it here within the walls of the Castle itself and minus crowds!

A little less royal, but definitely worth a visit is also LEGOLAND. With rides and attractions to suit all ages, and a whole world of miniature landmark replicas, all painstakingly made from Lego bricks, that will allow you to see the world in record time, it is a memorable day out for all!
