Housekeeping Week 2022

This month we were thrilled to celebrate Housekeeping Week 2022 with our teams.

We don't want to overstate this, but we need you to know that housekeepers are the backbone of the hotel industry.
Without them, we'd have no rooms to offer our guests, there'd be no fresh linen or soft towels waiting to be used. Simply put, we wouldn’t be able to welcome you to our hotels without this integral part of our teams.

Due to unfortunate timing, our celebrations took a more muted tone this year. With the majority of teams opting to celebrate the following week.

Most of the teams made time in their busy schedules to have either a breakfast or lunch party, which allowed them to unwind and be waited on for a change! This also gave the teams time to catch up with each other and exchange the latest on-the-job tales, as whilst housekeeping can be a very solitary job at times - they also have the best stories to share!

Some of the teams got a little competitive, so we had the best-made beds and very intricate towel folding taking place! From romantic swans and cute bunnies, to exotic flowers and cuddly elephants. The teams really outdid themselves and we cannot wait to see what they have in store for our guests celebrating special occasions in the upcoming months.

In equal parts fun and thrilling, one of our hotel teams undertook the challenge of the infamous towel tower obstacle course, although some suspect that they may have been secretly training for this!
We can confirm that no housekeepers were injured as part of this undertaking.

We also saw a huge amount of appreciation internally on our in-house messaging system, with photos of cleaning trolleys being decorated, treasure hunts being organised and prize raffles.

We may not shout about it every day, but as a company, we recognise and regularly celebrate our amazing teams. In addition to fun-filled activities, our teams are rewarded throughout the year for going above and beyond.

And, as always a massive well done to every housekeeper, cleaner, maid, and room attendant. You bring a shine to our world and for that we thank you!
